How to pay for WWU Summer Field Camp 2004

Field camp is an expensive proposition. It is not subsidized by the State of Washington as most courses are. This makes tuition expensive. Further, it uses vans to move around the western U.S., which must be rented and filled with fuel many times. Finally, some group expenses come out of fees, when these items make sense to purchase as a group (e.g., large propane tanks, coolers, etc.)

Paying for course fees

Paying for field camp happens in two parts. The course fees (which pay for the vans, coolers, and such) must be paid first (see schedule), and this is a sort of deposit. These are set at $650, but typically there are some extra unspent funds at the end of the summer which are refunded by mail to the students. There are two ways to do this:

Pay with credit card by fax

Pay with credit card by mail

Pay with check by mail

  • You can send a letter to the WWU Cashier's office with the following:
    • A check in the amount of $650 made out to "Western Washington University"
    • The following phrase clearly noted: "These funds should be deposited in account number 1-FSFLD-G153".
    • Send this material to:
      • Cashier's Office
        WWU
        516 High Street
        Bellingham, WA 98225-900

Paying for tuition and WWU fees

In addition the WWU tuition and fees must also be paid. This can be accomplished online using the Web for Students.
