*You are welcome to attend the office hours of any TA.
Grading - Your lab grade will count for approximately 1/3 of your overall course grade.
Your lab grade will be determined as follows:
Lab exercises 20%
Quizzes 30%
Lab Midterm Exam 20%
Lab Final Exam 30%
Lab Exercises - Your Lab assignments are designed to be short enough to finish during the class period.
You may, however, turn them in as late as the beginning of the next lab period without penalty.
Labs will be graded on a Check plus, or Check, or Check minus basis.
Assignments handed-in after the beginning of the next lab are late. They may be turned in up to one week late for a grade reduction of one mark. No credit will be given for labs turned in later than one week after due.
Quizzes - Short quizzes (~10 minutes) will be given at the beginning of lab, approximately every week.
They will be unannounced and focus on material since the previous quiz.
Your lowest quiz grade will be dropped at the end of the semester.
Exams - There will be a midterm exam in Lab on October 18,19
and a comprehensive Lab Final on December 6,7.
Attendance - You must attend the lab section in which you are registered.
There are no make-up labs or exams. If you have a special circumstance, ask your TA.
Lab Materials - You need to bring your Nesse Text and a hand lens to all labs.
You can purchase your hand lens at the Coop or at Dyers Rock Shop on Guadalupe.
